The Definition of Holistic Living- Getting Unstuck and Finding Your Purpose

Make Someone's Day-

There was a time in my life when I felt completely disconnected—from myself, my health, my emotions, my energy. I wasn’t sick, but I didn’t feel well. I wasn’t depressed, but I didn’t feel happy. I wasn’t lost, but I had no real direction.

I was functioning, but not thriving.

I had been taught to fix problems as they came. Feeling anxious? Manage the stress. Gaining weight? Go on a diet. Feeling tired? Drink more coffee. But nothing ever addressed why I felt the way I did. I was stuck in a cycle of treating symptoms without ever getting to the root cause.

That’s when I realized, I was approaching my well-being all wrong. I didn’t need a quick fix. I needed a new foundation.

And that’s how I found holistic living.

What Holistic Living Really Means

People like to throw the word holistic around like it’s some trendy buzzword. They associate it with green juice, yoga, and essential oils. And while all of those things have their place, holistic living isn’t about products, it’s about perspective.

At its core, holistic living means recognizing that everything is connected; your mind, your body, your emotions, your habits. You don’t just fix one part of your life and expect the rest to follow. You create balance across all areas, so nothing feels like a constant uphill battle.

I had spent years compartmentalizing my health. Treating physical symptoms without addressing stress, working on my mindset without changing my daily habits, trying to “fix” myself without ever looking at the bigger picture.

It wasn’t an overnight change. It was a process of unlearning and rebuilding, and it’s one I want to share with you.

Holistic Living Definition: Mind, Body, and Soul

The Mind: Shifting How You Think and Process Life

If you want to truly change your life, you have to start with your mindset.

I didn’t realize how deeply my thoughts controlled my reality until I started paying attention. I was always exhausted because I was mentally exhausted—constantly overthinking, worrying, stressing over things that didn’t deserve my energy.

The Trenity Method

Holistic living taught me that what you feed your mind is just as important as what you feed your body.

For me, this meant setting real boundaries—not just with people, but with the information I consumed. I had to limit my time around negativity, stop mindlessly scrolling through social media, and choose what thoughts I allowed to take root in my mind.

It also meant developing habits that kept my mind clear and strong, like journaling, practicing stillness, and making sure I started my day with intention instead of chaos.

When your mind is aligned, everything else follows.

The Body: What You Eat, How You Move, and How You Treat Yourself

I used to treat my body like an afterthought. I’d eat whatever was convenient, drink alcohol like I was missing a liver, move as little as possible, and sleep only when I had no other choice.

It wasn’t until I started really listening to my body that I realized how much damage I was doing.

Holistic living changed my relationship with food. Instead of eating to fix a craving, I started eating to fuel my body. I learned that real energy doesn’t come from sugar and caffeine—it comes from whole, nourishing foods that actually support your system.

I also had to start moving my body—not just for weight loss, but because movement is a form of healing. I found things I actually enjoyed—like stretching in the morning, taking walks outside, and choosing movement that felt good, not forced.

Sleep became non-negotiable. I had to stop treating exhaustion like a badge of honor. Rest is not a luxury, it’s a necessity.

When you treat your body right, it responds. The brain fog clears. The energy returns. The stress levels drop. It’s not magic—it’s just giving your body what it actually needs.

The Soul: Finding What Grounds You

This was the hardest part for me. I spent so much time focused on my physical and mental health that I ignored my spiritual well-being.

And no I’m not talking about religion.

I’m talking about connection to myself, to my purpose, to something bigger than my daily routine.

God was calling me, waiting for me to redirect my time and attention so that I could fully heal.

For some people, spirituality means prayer. For others, it’s meditation, energy work, or simply spending time in nature. For me, it meant slowing down and taking in all four aspects

I started prioritizing moments of stillness. No phone, no distractions—Just God, me, my thoughts, and the space to process them.

When you nourish your soul, you stop looking for validation in all the wrong places because you’ve already found it within yourself.

How to Start Your Own Holistic Living Journey

Holistic living isn’t about perfection. It’s about progress.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, start small. Pick one area of your life, your mind, body, or soul and make a small shift. Maybe it’s swapping processed food for whole ingredients. Maybe it’s starting a gratitude journal. Maybe it’s cutting off toxic energy that drains you.

You don’t have to change everything overnight. But you do have to start somewhere.

Because the truth is, your body, your mind, and your energy are all talking to you. The question is, are you listening?
